Off season is over, Preseason practice is over, Now its time to go racing!!!!!!!

The 2013 race season is finally here with our first practice this Saturday , once again this year OTR is on board the DCW Motorsports 22 driven by 14 year old DJjr.

   For 2013 our home track Seekonk Speedway in MA  has expanded our race schedule to 18 races (4 more than last season) . Also they have added a Triple Crown Series into the mix witch will be 3…

It time for the bad news / good news part on the season,

first the bad news, we will be selling 2 of our 3 minicup race cars because DJ jr will not be racing minicups if theses sell, we are keeping one car so we have it if Hans changes his mind and decides to race next year.

the good news is DJ will be moving into a legends car next year, these cars are alot bigger, have a yamaha 1000cc engine and 4 speed tranny, they do a lap at seekonk speedway in 14 seconds,…

Yesterday was our second rainout in a row for the Fast Friday Series at Seekonk Speedway. 

What this means for the OTR/DCW Motorsports team is that we only have 7 races now in Dj's chase for the championship, He is currently in 2nd place in the points. With him 16 points out of 1st from here on out he needs to concentrate on finishing ahead of the points leader each week . While winning is great he cannot afford to chance wrecking his equipment going for the win if he is going to…

With 5 races done and one rain-out, there are 10 regular season points races left, so i figured an update was in order.

Our rookie driver Hans in the 02 car seems to be unable to catch a break, of the 5 weeks run he has had 2 good qualifying runs where he finished 3rd and 2nd. Other than that he has been wrecked or spun-out by other drivers because they see a rookie and don't give him the respect he deserves on the track, while a few may have been due to his own mistakes, most were…

It was a great night at the track, once again Dj was the fastest car in practice driving the 22 and Hans was very happy with his car.

in qualifing Dj started 7th and was able to 2nd by lap 6 of the 8 laps but did not have enough time to catch the leader,in Hans qualifier he started 2nd but was spun on lap one and then got into a wreck under caution to end his race.

In the main Hans was starting 3rd and Dj was starting 10th in the field of 17 cars in the 20 lap main. On lap one…

Friday night was a roller coaster ride for the OTR/DCW Motorsports team.But the boys learned some much needed lessons.

The night started with practice , on lap 3 of practice both cars broke, The 02 lost 2 of 3 bolts that hold the rear axle bearing cassette in place and the left tire ended up rubbing the header (these bolts are on their list of things that need to be checked every week but nobody checked anything over the past week). After driving to the track, unloading the cars, paying our entry fees and signing in, the boys got in one round of practice before the sky opened up and the evenings events were canceled.

After the week we had building a new car because the 22 was totaled, We went to the track hoping for the best but expecting the worst. We arrived at the track early so we could double check the cars. Before regular practice began they let Dj bring the new car out for 3 laps alone  to make sure that the car was right before being out with the pack, when he came off track the car stalled and would not restart.I was thinking this was the start of a horrible night. This week racing was rough, as most who have seen the videos know, practice went well , qualifing was good , and many were able to watch the races live via the OTR ustream,

In the 20 lap main Hans in the 02 started 9th and Dj in the 22 started 12th. From the drop of the green flag Dj was moving forward and by lap 7 was in 5th place Hans was running in 10th, During a pass on lap 7 there was contact between Dj and the 1car , Dj spun and was t-boned by the 12 car at about 70 mph, both…

It was a overall great night at track, but to be honest until the end of the race it was hectic and full of rush rush rush.

It started with the ride to the track where we got stuck behind a hay truck on a main road (rt44) which added a half hour to our ride, by the time we got to the track we did not have enough time for the boys to get suited and for me to install their restricter plates before first practice so they missed it. Our goal is to raise close to $450 so we can bring video of the racing action to OTR and hopefully add to the enjoyment of the OTR liseners when Dj (driver of the 22- age 13) and Hans (driver of the 02 - age 10) are on the OTR airwaves.

Everybody that has known me here at OTR for the many years I have been here knows that I am a person who has always done for others when i can , without any expectations in return. That is what makes this so hard for me to do.

Yesterday the track decided to have an extra practice for all the minicup drivers. We got the call on Wensday telling us about this. We were not going to attend due to Karena's 1st B-Day party that day and also we are trying to save money while we look for a replacement sponcer/advertiser.

With less than 2 weeks before the official start of the 2012 Fast Fridays points season at Seekonk Speedway we have a few things to update for our Otr folowers.

Lets start with the good news first, Both cars and drivers are ready to run, engines are back from being sealed, both cars are setup and fast. It was another long day at the track, we had our problems but all in all it was a good day.

The day started with both cars developing fuel leaks due to a bad batch of fuel lines. With new lines installed it was time ti hit the track.

As for Hans in the 02, his first time out for the day he bumped another car and lost the zues fasteners that hold the body on, a couple of laps later his fiberglass car body went air born and crashed down onto the track. A roll of duct tape…
