Well the word is out... I officially have a heart!! lol Yes, you heard me right, there is a heart buried in this ample chest of mine.. and its focused on a great cause!!

THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY!!

This June 17th/18th, my area communities are participating in ACS's Relay for Life, to show our support, and do our part to help raise funds in the fight against cancer.

CANCER... a word we all never want to hear, yet a word we hear all to often.  Most of us have been unable to avoid this monster in our lives.  Wives & husbands, sisters & brothers, aunts & uncles, and unfortunatly children are affected by this disease every single day. I lost my father 11 years ago to lung cancer.  His death was one of the hardest things I've had to witness in my lifetime, and ive seen a lot of death.  Growing up a 'daddy's girl' gave me such pride in my life.  Fishing by the river with the 'stinky bait' to get the best catfish... having to pee in the bushes because there was no bathroom for miles... I would give just about anything to go fishing with my dad again!! But.. ultimatily, cancer took him from me... 

I also work in long term care facility where I see this fight against cancer every single day. Its not often that the patient wins.  It pisses me off that there is not a cure yet!! In this day and age of modern medicines, and all the money the dug companies make.. WHY DONT WE HAVE A CURE??????  That is why I am choosing to participate again this year in the fight against cancer.

Now comes the part I dont like doing, but needs to be done... Will you help???
