Hi guys, its that time of year again, where I begin my fund raising goals for this summers Relay for Life!! This year is much different for me, as I have been elected team captain.  So not only will I be doing my own fund raising events, I will be coordinating all my teams events as well.  

We started out with a holiday bake sale the week before Christmas and raised just over $300.00 in 4 hours of sales!! Big THANK YOU to all of those who donated and purchased items.

I'm not sure if I have told you WHY I participate in the relay, or WHY I think it is important, but I am now.  I lost my father to lung cancer 12 years ago next week.  On the 10 year anniversary of his death I quit smoking.  The 11th year I became a team member, doing my part to help the team.  This year, 12 years since his passing, I am making the commitment to be move involved in taking that leadership role and encouraging others to do the same.

We all have been touched in some way by this awful disease, and a lot of us would like just one more birthday to celebrate with our loved ones....  Thats what the American Cancer Society strives to do... to create more birthdays.  They do this through your kind and generous donations, on the ground labor putting together these events, and countless of volunteers donating their time and energy to help create those birthdays.
