Friday night was a roller coaster ride for the OTR/DCW Motorsports team.But the boys learned some much needed lessons.

The night started with practice , on lap 3 of practice both cars broke, The 02 lost 2 of 3 bolts that hold the rear axle bearing cassette in place and the left tire ended up rubbing the header (these bolts are on their list of things that need to be checked every week but nobody checked anything over the past week). The 22 broke the front hiem joint that holds the engine and the rear suspension to the chassis (it was a aluminum one that I wanted changed to a new steel one but DJ felt he knew better and refused to change it). After about an hour of busting my azz we got both cars together just in time for qualifying.

They were bot in qualifying heat #2, with the 02 starting 1st and the 22 starting 5th, the qualifier went green to checker with Dj passing Hans on the last lap coming out of turn 4 for the win. 22 1st, 02 2nd, wooohoo 1-2 finish!!!!!

In the main the 02 started 2nd and the 22 started 12th of the 17 cars taking the green flag. On lap 2 the 02 and 37 got togather, the 02 spun and got hit by 2 cars, one in the front one in the rear, it compleatly twisted the front bumper and tore the body apart on both ends, he drove it into the pits but his night was done and he finished 17th. During the caution Djs car stalled and would not restart, he was pushed into the pits, the vacume line that runs the fuel pump fell off (something i have been asking him to put a clamp on for weeks). i popped it back on but when he came back on track the field was already restarting and he went a lap down, He drove the doors off the car making pass after pass, but even tho he finished 4th on the field,he was credited with a 12th place finish as the first car 1 lap down

Lessons learned this week :

1- you get out what you put in, if you dont check every piece of the car every week it is going to fall apart , YOU CANNOT WIN FROM THE PITS.

2- being cocky will always bring you bad carma, DJ FELT HIS CAR WAS GREAT SO HE DID NOT NEED TO NUT AND BOLT IT LAST WEEK, ALSO HE PUT HIS CAMERA FACING BACKWARDS TO FILM THE FIELD WHEN HE WAS LEADING, how did both of those work out, NOT GOOD

3- I may be an old fart, but i have been doing this for along time, when i ask for a part to be changed and things be checked, don't second guess me, JUST DO IT

Hopefully next week will be better , Another 1-2 finish is now their weekly goal, they did it once so they know they can do it again
